This year marks the 25th anniversary of Titanic and James Cameron can’t stop talking about the film, which hits theaters again on February 10th. In recent times, he has gradually revealed details about the script, actors and filming. Most recently, it was whether it was possible for Jack to survive together with Rose, and now the director tells us that Leonardo DiCaprio, who plays Jack Dawson, was not at all sold on the script that was the basis of the film that would sweep the carpet with the competition. In fact, he thought the movie seemed boring and didn’t want to be in Titanic at all and Cameron had to do everything to talk him out of it. In an interview with People Magazine He said this about the precarious situation:

“He didn’t want to do a leading man. I had to really twist his arm to be in the movie. He didn’t want to do it. He thought it was boring. He accepted the part only when I convinced him that it was actually a difficult challenge.”

But it worked out in the end, as everyone knows by now, and the film took home a whopping eleven Oscars. However, DiCaprio himself was left without and had to wait until 2016 and The Revenant before he finally got to lift that long-awaited statuette.
