In the transmission of the last press conference —through the channel of the Government of Mexico— took place last Wednesday, April 5, the total views were over 108,000 and, considering that the total number of subscribers is 779,000, the views were equivalent to 13%.

Meanwhile, the personal channel of the federal president has 3.66 million subscribers and the conferences of the last 10 days have views of more than 600 thousand viewers; that is, more than 16%.

The controversy surrounding the “morning” began when the head of the federal Executive announced on April 4 that the press conferences on Thursday and Friday, April 6 and 7, would be canceled because they coincided with the Easter.

Days later, the political scientist Denise Dresser he expressed in the raido program of Carmen Aristegui —from Thursday, April 6— the urgency to end the scheme of AMLO’s daily conferences, which he considered as the root of the polarization among the Mexican population.

“I think a solution would have to be the end of the morning. I do not deny that Mexico had pre-existing cleavages and gaps: social, cultural, race, class, but the morning has been in charge of stoking those grievances and also creating enemies at convenience”, accused the also writer.

In addition, the academic pointed out that AMLO is a “leader with authoritarian drives”, who is accompanied by a “cortege of writers, intellectuals, propagandists, moneros, youtubers” and even the media.
