Xabi Alonso has commented on Bayer Leverkusen’s new signing Noah Mbamba. During the press conference before the derby against Borussia Mönchengladbach, the Spaniard said about the defensive midfielder: “Yes, he is a candidate (for the squad, note D. Red.). […] The impression was good […] he’s a good player but we have to be patient. We need to see his development but I hope he can help us.”

In addition, the 18-year-old “a very good personality”. Mbamba signed a contract with Leverkusen last week until 2028.
