The Cocks handball club has decided to invest in the women’s team. The Riihimäki club, which has been in division 1, aims to play in the FM series this autumn.

The FM series in handball has a shortage of both players and teams. This became clear when the players had their say in Yle Sporten’s survey a couple of weeks ago.

A change for the better is now underway as the Riihimäki club Cocks announces that the women’s team aims to play in the FM series this autumn. In a press release, the club says that the women’s team, which has played in division 1, is applying for a license in order to advance.

The club writes that the young team has developed during the season and that it put pressure on the club management to invest. Cocks are looking to strengthen the team with 2-5 players in order to complete a season at the highest league level.

Cocks ends the season by playing a continuation series that also includes league teams BK-46 and KyIF. On Friday evening, the match Cocks–BK-46 ended 22–29.
