Federal prosecutor Fernando Arrigó requested this Monday penalties for life imprisonment for 14 of the 19 police officers defendants in the trial for the forced disappearance and death of Franco Casco, the 22-year-old young man from Buenos Aires who was imprisoned in the 7th police station in Rosario in October 2014 and whose body was found 22 days later in the waters of the Paraná River.

The judicial official closed his argument on Monday in the Federal Court of Oroño at 900 and considered all the facts proven and the participation of the defendantsexcept one of them for those who request acquittal.

Arrigó asked for life imprisonment for the crimes of forced disappearance of a person aggravated by the death of the victim, and imposition of torture on a person deprived of their liberty followed by death for Diego Álvarez, Cecilia Contino, Walter Benítez, Fernando Blanco, César Acosta, Guillermo Gysel, Cintia Greiner, Rocío Hernández, Marcelo Guerrero, Enrique Gianola Rocha, Esteban Silva, Ramón Juárez, Romina Díaz and Franco Zórzoli. All of them are police officers.

For his part, he asked for a sentence of 14 years and 10 months in prison and absolute disqualification for Belkis González and Rodolfo Murua, whom he considers secondary participants and who work as administrative personnel of the provincial security force.

In addition, for Pablo Síscaro and Daniel Escobar he requested sentence of 5 years and 10 months and disqualification for concealment, with the aggravating circumstance of their participation to hide proof of the events that occurred. He also requested the acquittal of Walter Ortiz.

For the neighbor who gave rise to the case, Daniel Crespo, requested the sentence of 3 years in prison on hold and disqualification for double the time of the sentence for giving false testimony about the facts.
