O Quake – Lisbon Earthquake Center will mark International Museum Day with promotions for its visitors, next Thursday, May 18th.

Thus, “the 100 visitors arriving at the museum’s reception on the same day” will be able to pick up a maximum of two tickets free of charge. For those who do not get free entry, they can “buy tickets at half price”, says a statement from the Quake.

“All sessions on May 18 are 50% off, whether tickets are purchased in advance on the museum’s website, where they are already available, or purchased on the same day at reception or on the website”, adds the note.

The experience lasts “an hour and a half in a highly didactic and technological space that recreates, in an immersive format, the tragic earthquake that affected Lisbon in 1755”.

The Quake – Lisbon Earthquake Center is located in Belém, next to the National Coach Museum, and aims to “inform and alert the population to the occurrence of a possible new earthquake, in order to avoid a large-scale tragedy similar to that experienced by the people from Lisbon in the 18th century”.
