Live: Amtrak train derails after colliding with car in Ventura County

At least three cars of an Amtrak train with passengers on board derailed after colliding with a car in the Moorpark area of ​​Ventura County, southern California.

The collision was reported at 11:18 am near Los Angeles Avenue and Montair Drive. None of the derailed wagons flipped over completely, reported Ventura Sheriff’s Department.

The Fire Department arrived at the scene to check the damage and help the people who were inside the train.

Aerial images showed the area of ​​the accident and dozens of people, believed to be passengers, gathered near the train.

Passengers who were not injured are being transported by buses to a safe location, the Ventura Fire Department reported.

Los Angeles Avenue is closed from Tierra Rejada Road to Hitch Boulevard while investigation work is being carried out.

So far no victims have been reported. Multiple law enforcement agencies are on the scene to investigate the cause of the incident.
