Death toll from helicopter crash near kyiv rises to 18

According to information obtained by BFMTV, the toll of the helicopter crash which occurred this Wednesday morning in Brovary, in the suburbs of kyiv, rose to 18 dead.

Among them are nine people who were on board the aircraft, including the Minister of the Interior, his deputy and a senior official.

Nine other people were also killed on the ground, including three children from the nursery school near which the helicopter crashed.

Ukrainian interior minister killed in helicopter crash

At least 16 people including Ukrainian Interior Minister Denys Monastyrsky and two children were killed in a helicopter crash on Wednesday morning near a kindergarten in the kyiv region, national police said.

“In total, we currently have information on 16 deaths, including two children,” police said in a statement.

The Interior Minister’s first deputy, Yevgeny Yenine, and another senior ministry official, who were also on board the aircraft, were also killed.
