Mexico City .- After being accused of asking the senators from Morena to approve “Plan B” to “destroy the INE”, the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López, recalled that the councilors Lorenzo Córdova and Ciro Murayama will leave their positions in just three months.

When participating in the signing of the Agreement for the Construction of La Paz, between the federal Government and the State of Hidalgo, some sympathizers launched shouts of support for the Tabasco native.

“Adán friend, Hidalgo is with you,” they chanted.

In response, the official asked to wait for the counselors to leave their posts and avoid being sanctioned.

“No, we have to save that for later, because Lorenzo and Ciro can still penalize me, we’d better put up with it.

“They’re leaving in April and then we’ll talk about it for those dates.”

At the end of the meeting, in an interview, the head of Segob attacked the electoral authorities.

The man from Tabasco defended the accusations of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who accused the INE of allowing the stuffing of ballot boxes, the theft of electoral packages, the falsification of minutes and the purchase of votes.

“Well, that is not an accusation, it is a reality and that is why we Mexicans require an in-depth electoral reform, since the time in which the electoral advisers distributed the spoils of the parties is over,” he asserted.

– And the system crash with Bartlett?, he was asked.

– “Well, what you say about the fall of the system was a thing of the past, now there is a democratic, plural, inclusive government, in which the free expression of ideas is respected.

– “Licenciate Bartlett is the director of the CFE, he is not involved in governance tasks in the country,” he replied.

On the other hand, after accusing Córdova of having arrived at the INE as a “party quota”, the secretary announced that the selection of the new directors will be by insaculation and not the product of a distribution.

“In the INE they do not want the Mexicans to know how they chose Lorenzo Córdova, if they are party quotas,” he released.

“That is why now we are going to promote compliance with the constitutional process and finally the 20 Mexican men and women who prove to be the most qualified are insaculated.”

Despite the confrontation between the federal government and the INE, the head of Segob considered that “there is no lawsuit” and hoped that the so-called electoral “Plan B” would be declared constitutional by the Supreme Court of Justice.

‘I do not regret’

In his speech, the official recalled that last year he was sanctioned by the INE, after making a public pronouncement in favor of the morenista Julio Menchaca, when he was a candidate for the governorship of Hidalgo.

However, he made it clear that he has no remorse for his conduct.

“It was in Progreso. I always like to walk in the towns when I arrive, I start walking and people stop outside their businesses and greet me and say:

“‘Listen, Julio Menchaca is going to be a great governor, we are going to vote for him’ and I went that day and told him: Julio, don’t even think about it, if you are going to destroy here in Hidalgo. That’s why the INE fined me, but I I don’t regret it,” he added.
