This super number has NEVER existed in ARD’s almost 60-year lottery history…

When the winning numbers from the Saturday lottery were announced, “Tagesschau” presenter Thorsten Schröder (55) made a slip of the tongue that made the viewers smile.

The speaker at his announcement: “And now a look at the lottery numbers: 9, 13, 14, 23, 24, 40, super number. D.” Schröder immediately noticed his little mistake and corrected himself: “No, 0 of course.”

On social media, viewers joked about the letters in the row of numbers – and the “Tagesschau” crew obviously took the slip of the tongue with humor. In the evening, the editors published a short self-deprecating clip.

The “Tagesschau” team wrote on Twitter: “In the 8 p.m. edition of the Tagesschau on April 29, 2023, speaker Thorsten Schröder called the super number “D”. Of course we had to correct that.”

Thorsten Schröder can be seen again in the video, who is kidding himself. In his usual confident pose, he recites the “lottery letters”: “T, S, L, M, A, E – super letter: 0.”

The correct version of the lottery numbers could be seen and heard on Sunday in the ARD media library and on “tagesschau.de”.

The last, much more serious lottery glitch came at the beginning of 2022: In the draw with a jackpot of over 45 million euros, the lottery wheel suddenly stopped spinning – under strict observation, each ball had to be transferred individually into a new drum.
