The Swiss pop singer Vincent Gross took a well-known hit by the rapper Apache 207 and knitted it into a hit. His fans really like his version.
Musically, the German rapper Volkan Yaman (25), better known by his stage name “Apache 207”, and the Swiss pop singer Vincent Gross (26) don’t have much in common. Nevertheless, the latter has now grabbed a song by the rapper and covered a small excerpt – in a hit version, of course. The result can currently be heard and seen on the singer’s Instagram account.
“Roller” was a summer hit in Germany in 2019, making it to the top of the charts. And even if the piece sounds completely different as a hit, at least Vincent Gross’ followers are very enthusiastic. “Vincent, please make it a full version,” writes a user. Other comments are: “I love”, “Absolutely awesome” or “Mom celebrates that too”.
Vincent Gross accepts the challenge
Now the followers can also suggest other well-known songs that Vincent Gross is supposed to “miss” in the near future. “What hit should I do next?” asks the blonde singer on Instagram. The fans have no shortage of ideas, so the gag could quickly become a successful video series. Among the users’ requests were songs by Taylor Swift or Lewis Capaldi. Since the native of Basel has already tried Justin Bieber’s “Baby”, the result would certainly be a complete success again.
But many fans prefer rock or hip-hop songs, which is why they throw artists like Die Ärzte, Rammstein or Die Fantastischen Vier into the mix. Michael Jackson’s “Moves” is also among the suggestions. “Maybe from Capital Bra, that will be difficult,” writes a user, to which Vincent Gross replies: “Challenge accepted” and thus accepts the challenge. The artist Capital Bra mainly does German or gangsta rap, so that Vincent Gross will have to really work hard here for his “Verschlagern”.
