As head coach at Hamburger SV, Tim Walter is an exception. The 47-year-old has been in charge of sporting affairs on the Elbe since 2021. Since then, Walter has stood on the sidelines at HSV in 60 competitive games. Only one other coach has managed a comparable tenure at Rothosen in the past ten years, Markus Gisdol (52 games).

As reported by the ‘Daily Mail’, Norwich City is interested in the services of the successful coach. Alongside Chris Wilder (previously FC Middlesbrough and Sheffield United), Walter is one of the candidates for the English second division club. Does the Walter extension wobble?

In Hamburg, that promotion with Walter should succeed at the second attempt. With a point average of 2.0, the Hanseatic League is in second place after 17 match days. The cooperation on the Elbe, which has been successful up to now, has long been wanted to be extended.

However, an extension has not yet been put on paper, as the expiring contract of sports director Jonas Boldt was also still in the room. Since Boldt was given a contract until 2025 a few years ago, Walter’s extension was only a formality. The Norwich interest could change that again.
