Turin transfer market / The alternative to Ilic from Verona is Makengo from Udinese, here is the club’s request for the midfielder

The winter transfer market session is almost over, closing is scheduled for January 31st. Still no incoming movement for Turin, but requests from the coach Ivan Yuric they are always the same: a left midfielder and an attacking player. For Ilic the situation is not yet entirely clear, therefore the sporting director Vagnati is evaluating alternative tracks, one of these leads to Jean-Victor Makengo. Left-footed midfielder born in 1998 under Udinese, he could be the right player in case Ilic vanishes.

Udinese’s request

The request of the Friulian club is of 10 million of Euro. The French midfielder, among other things European champion with the Under 17s, was paid 3.5 million by the Bianconeri in 2020, who took him from Nice. The French Riviera club had instead paid him a good 6 million in 2017, taking him from Caen. The figure is not low and very unlikely Turin will decide to invest that money on a player who is currently considered a second choice: in the event that the Ilic deal fades definitively, Vagnati will try to find an agreement for the loan of Makengo, with an option to redeem at the end of the season. If Udinese were to make a block then the manager of the grenade will evaluate other profiles. But the first choice is currently Ivan Ilic.
