Abel Giovani Nava was formally charged this Thursday for the murder of Jocelyn Morales, 22, who was found dead on Ruiz Street, in Brownsville, this past Wednesday, August 16.
Bail set for Nava was one million dollars and he was booked into the Carrizales Rucker Detention Center, located in Brownsville. According to the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office, Nava confessed to the crime.
Morales was found after a wellness check on Wednesday at around 8:30 pm. The young woman was the mother of an infant.
During the investigation, officers obtained an arrest warrant for Nava, who was a suspect in Morales’ murder. The man was arrested this Thursday morning his excuse for committing the crime was jealousy.
