Man charged with murder in fatal stabbing

The man who fatally stabbed another man at an immigrant shelter in East Harlem early Sunday morning is charged with murder.

The attacker, identified as Óscar González, 30, was later arrested.

He is also charged with aggravated criminal possession of a weapon.

The stabbing took place around four in the morning at an asylum center located on Third Avenue and East 97th Street.

The authorities assure that the incident occurred after a dispute between the two.

The victim was identified as Argeyeris Martínez, 29 years old.

Both men share the same address at 1760 Third Avenue, in Manhattan.

Police sources could not confirm that they were immigrants but they could confirm that the incident occurred in a shelter for them.
