A man died after being shot multiple times early Friday morning in West Philadelphia, according to authorities.
The events occurred on Vine Street, near 63rd Street, shortly before 9:30 a.m.
The victim, who appears to be in his 30s, was transported to a nearby hospital where he died, according to the police report.
At the moment the authorities have not revealed the reasons for the shooting, while they try to find the whereabouts of the gunman.
Officers could be seen blocking the street as they searched for clues and evidence could be seen marked on the sidewalk.
There have been 236 homicides in Philadelphia so far this year, according to figures compiled by police. Representing 23% less than last year on this same date, even so, it has been one of the deadliest since 2007.
