And man drowned this Tuesday afternoon on a channel in the city of Weston, in the broward countySouth Florida, an incident that is being investigated by police.

At about 1:15 pm, a call was received at the county’s Regional Communications alerting to an apparent drowning near the 500 block of Racquet Club Road, a spokesman for the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) revealed.

Agents from the BSO, the Fire Department and the Sheriff’s Office Dive Team responded to the scene, where they took immediate action to save the life of the victim, an adult male.

Police reported that paramedics transported the man to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities have yet to release information on the identity or age of the victim.

A team from the television channel Local 10 News who covered the news on the spot, posted images of a pair of construction boots that were found near the canal.

According to his report, the BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene units were investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

In recent times, several drownings have been reported in canals, lakes, beaches, and swimming pools in South Florida.

The last week, two children presumably drowned in the pool of a vacant house in Hollywood, Broward County.

Days before, five teenagers lost their lives when the vehicle they were traveling in went off a curve and plunged into a pond in Fort Myers, Lee County.

In May, a man was pulled unconscious from a Miami-Dade lake and declared dead soon after.

At the end of February, a five-year-old boy found dead on a Broward County canal.
