Georgia.- A Georgia man killed two of his relatives and the manager of a fast-food restaurant before committing suicide Thursday in a rural town in southern Georgia, the medical examiner said.

The suspect killed his 50-year-old mother and 74-year-old grandmother at two neighborhood homes and then murdered a 41-year-old woman at a McDonald’s restaurant in downtown Moultrie, the man told The Associated Press. Colquitt County Medical Examiner C. Verlyn Brock.

It also revealed that the 26-year-old gunman committed suicide.

All three women were apparently fatally shot multiple times, according to the coroner.

“I can’t for the life of me understand what set it off like that,” Brock said in a phone interview.

Brock declined to provide the names of the victims, saying they are working to notify their families.

McDonald’s said the woman slain at its restaurant was the manager, but the company did not provide her name. Brock added that he does not know if the person in charge and the person in charge of McDonald’s knew each other.

Moultrie police called the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to investigate the case, which usually occurs with major crimes in Georgia.

Jerry Goodwin, who lives next door to the gunman and his mother and two doors down from his grandmother, told The Associated Press that his wife heard the shots before 1 am Thursday as he was sleeping.

Goodwin added that the young man had fired a gun a day earlier in the week and yelled something, and that Moultrie police had responded to the scene.

Sabrina Holweger, who works at an optometrist’s office next door to McDonald’s, told the AP that she and a co-worker arrived at work before 8 a.m. to find the body of the shot woman at the door. from the restaurant, and that the police were already on the scene.

He added that the person in charge also worked for a time in the restaurant.
