Presenter Mareile Höppner switched from ARD to RTL and is now shooting for her job at the magazine “Extra” in Cologne. She seems to like it there.

Cologne – Mareile Höppner (45) has changed jobs: she has been the face of the ARD tabloid magazine “Brisant” since 2008 and wanted to change careers again after such a long time. She switched to the private broadcaster RTL, where she replaced Nazan Eckes on “Extra”. On January 10, she made her debut there in a new slot. For her new job, she now commutes from Berlin to Cologne, the station’s headquarters.

In an interview with Bunte.de, the moderator at Berlin Fashion Week told how she has fared in her new job so far. Mareile Höppner reported that she was “warmly welcomed”. “The people of Cologne are very cordial, they say, and that’s actually the case. The conversations in the elevator don’t stop there. So no matter what happens, there’s always chatter,” she said.

“A Kölsch at 11”: Mareile Höppner is happy about the good mood at RTL

The Berliner-by-choice describes the good mood in Cologne as follows: “You felt like you had a Kölsch in your hand at 11:00.” Of course, that doesn’t really happen, she quickly explains her joke. The 45-year-old seems to have arrived safely. By the way, RTL is not a completely new place to work for Mareile Höppner. After her 14-year “Brisant” career on ARD, she began her television career in the early 2000s on the show “Guten Abend RTL”, first as a weather forecaster and then as a presenter.
