CDMX.- Mark Hamill, the actor who plays Luke Skywalker, announced that he will sign some Star Wars posters to raise funds that will go towards maintaining the Ukrainian army’s supply of drones during the war with Russia.

In an interview with the English portal Politico, the actor revealed that, after six years, he will sign franchise posters again in order to help the Ukrainian army almost a year after the war, which began on February 24, 2021.

“We decided to sign Star Wars posters, it will be a limited quantity.

“They’re for the hardcore collectors, especially those who have disposable income, they can make (with these pieces) a lot more money than they think,” Hamill told Politico.

Regarding this act, Mark Hamill declared that he was happy to sign posters again because it is a charity campaign and he considers that this is better than concentrating on his own interest.

The actor’s idea is that the autographed posters are auctioned off and sold to the highest bidder to get the most revenue that will go to Ukraine.

“It really is a children’s fairy tale, originally that was Star Wars. And the reality, the harsh reality of what is happening in Ukraine, is heartbreaking,” said the also film producer.

Hamill was appointed ambassador of the drone project by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, in September of last year.

“For Ukrainians, this means a lot. As in Star Wars, good will triumph over evil and light will defeat darkness. With you on the team, there is no other way around it,” Zelensky’s statement said about the support of the actor.
