Masked trio would have robbed an ATM assisted by a chain and the force of a U-Haul

A trio of masked men managed to steal the ATM from a warehouse in Philadelphia by tying it up with a chain and dragging it with a U-Haul truck, according to authorities.

The robbery was reported to have taken place at about 5:00 am in the 2462 block of North 29th Street at the ‘7-Days’ Mini-Market establishment.

The ATM was in the corner of the front door, so the suspects tied it up or chained it until it was removed from the site with the force of the truck. Immediately afterwards, two of the individuals mounted it in the cargo part of the vehicle before fleeing.

The U-Haul truck was found by police in the 2400 block of West Montgomery Avenue and the ATM was found empty in the 1800 block of North Taylor Street.

The three suspects were described as black men wearing hoodies and face masks. The only difference in the clothing was the sports shoes of each one.

Anyone who recognizes them or has additional information can contact 215-686-TIPS (8477).
