Matt Bomer almost played Ken in the film

Actor Matt Bomer (Magic Mike) revealed in a recent interview that he auditioned to play Ken in Barbie, and almost got the role.

In interview Vanity Fair, Bomer revealed that he recorded a test tape in which he performed different versions of Kenwith different costumes, but ended up giving up the role in the middle of the casting process, as he decided to prioritize his family.

I recorded it myself, played several different Kens and dressed differently for each of them, Bomer said. I recorded other people’s dialogue lines on my recorder and then gave myself space to respond.
