The mayor of a commune in Teleorman was picked up by the police and taken to hearings, being accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl from a placement center in Bucharest. The man is 63 years old.

According to the Capital Police, the police officers from Section 21, under the supervision of the District Court Prosecutor’s Office 6, executed two search warrants at a residential address, as well as at the headquarters of an institution in Teleorman county, in a criminal case in which investigations for the crime of sexual assault.
The Capital Police say, in a press release, that on September 6, Section 21 was notified that on August 21, a 17-year-old girl from a placement center in Sector 6 was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man.
“Following the research and investigations carried out, it was established that the suspect of committing the act is a 63-year-old man from Teleorman county,” the Capital Police also say, specifying that the man was detained for 24 hours.
According to judicial sources, the detained man is the mayor of Botoroaga commune in Teleorman county, who has been in office for over 20 years. The girl, who would have been in Teleorman with her mother, would have been taken by car by the mayor and taken to the town hall, where the aggression would have taken place, according to stirilorprotv.ro.
