The American army is asking the public to help it find an “invisible” (stealth) American plane that crashed on Sunday, but whose remains have not yet been found, reports France Presse.

On Sunday afternoon, the pilot of an F-35 ejected from the military aircraft over the state of South Carolina in the southern part of the United States.

The pilot survived, but the US military ran into a completely different problem: they couldn’t locate the aircraft. For this reason, Charleston Air Force Base, in the south of the state of South Carolina, had to ask for the help of the residents of the area.

“If you have information that could help our rescue teams locate the F-35, please call the base’s Defense Operations Center,” the military unit wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Air Force Base officials said they were conducting search operations in coordination with federal aviation regulators around two lakes north of Charleston.

The F-35 fighter jets, made by Lockheed Martin, cost about $80 million (€75 million) each.
