Diego Demme (31) moved from Leipzig to Naples almost three years ago for around ten million euros. Around half would now have to be paid to free the defensive midfielder from Serie A leaders.
Alfredo Pedullà reports that Napoli is demanding four to five million euros for a transfer in winter. A loan with an option to buy is also conceivable if Demme’s new club takes over his salary. According to the Italian transfer insider, there is no shortage of prospects for Demme.
Three clubs from the Bundesliga are said to be involved, including Bayer Leverkusen and VfB Stuttgart. AC Milan and FC Valencia are also considered interested parties, but no agreement is said to have been reached with league rivals US Salernitana.
One thing is clear: After only 19 league minutes in the first half of the season, Demme definitely wants to change a year and a half before the end of the contract. The Bundesliga is increasingly emerging as a serious option.
