Expected as the successor to last year’s MediaTek Dimensity 9200, the 9200 Plus chipset is expected to launch soon – and, according to the latest rumors, the public can expect an even more powerful solution than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. According to blogger Digital Chat Station, the score of the new chip exceeds 1.35 million points, while the competitor’s rival reaches a maximum of 1.33 million.
O powerful 5G chip uses TSMC’s 4nm process and has a super core, three large cores and four small cores. The Cortex-A715 is an upgrade from last year’s Cortex-A710, but the Cortex-A510 in the small core remains intact.
It is worth noting that all performance cores of the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Plus only handle 64-bit programs. The 64-bit multithreaded architecture performs the same task when compared to the 32-bit architecture, with compression and decompression showing gains of 92% and 80%.
The chip also promises hardware-level ray tracing and variable rate rendering technologies, enabling the mobile ray tracing effects of soft shadow, mirror flare and refraction. The iQOO Neo 8 should debut the chip at retail. However, whether this chip will be as popular as Snapdragon chips among manufacturers remains to be seen.
