The Duchess was presented with the award by US feminist Gloria Steinem, 89, who has been a good friend of the Sussexes since they moved into their €13million estate in Montecito. Steinem stressed that Meghan had been a women’s defender all her life and that Meghan also took the opportunity at the gala to encourage women to “be the visionary of their own lives”.
