Juarez City.- Merchants from the Central area installed since yesterday the stalls with merchandise alluding to the celebration of Mother’s Day.

Flowers, clothing, accessories and jewelry at prices ranging from 50 to 400 pesos are part of the items that are already on view in the Rafael Velarde street corridor.

There are around 25 merchants located in the Downtown area who joined those who are already established to sell during the days prior to the festivities, said Eduardo Páez, representative of the merchants.

“We don’t always have to buy something expensive, I look for details to give to my sisters, that’s why every year I come here to Velarde to stock up on bracelets, some artificial flowers,” said Úrsula Blanco, a frequent customer from the Downtown area.

Angélica Hernández, who has been a merchant for six years, offers bracelets, rings, necklaces, chains, costume jewelery and steel charms that range from 50 to 300 pesos.

Compete with social networks

For the next festivities, he hopes that his sales will be good, although he said that marketing through social networks influences, which are a competition for sellers who physically display their products.

Adela Gómez is a client who prefers to buy gifts at the Center because it is cheaper and she finds a wide variety of products, but she thinks that the modules that were established during the four days should remain valid for longer.

“That they leave them for more days, sometimes visitors from El Paso come, and we like to give them a little detail, there are many of us in the family and we like to spend those days together, and on other occasions a week later for those who could not visit us on mere Mother’s Day”, mentioned the interviewee.

Erika Adame managed to obtain a permit to sell artificial floral details that will serve as details for the next dates, and although she does not know if sales will be good unlike last year, which had more merchandise, she decided to offer products such as tea sets and arrangements flowers in water bubble.

“Let’s hope that there is a sale, we don’t want to lose what we invest, because then it will stay, last year we did sell but because there was merchandise, and right now it is exclusive to May 10, but sales do increase by up to 60 percent” Adame mentioned.
