CDU party leader Friedrich Merz wants to delay the dismantling of the nuclear power plants in Germany that have been switched off. Opposition leader Merz wants to set the course in Parliament for an exit from the exit: “We will submit a motion to the Bundestag this week that states that at least the systems will not be wantonly scrapped,” said Merz on Tuesday on ARD – Talk show “maischberger”. The CDU politician accused the federal government of forcing the dismantling of the nuclear power plants: “That’s a plan of the coalition. She now wants to scrap these systems immediately in an urgent procedure so that no one can think of putting them back into operation.”

Merz emphasized again that he supports the demand from Bavaria’s Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) for the continued operation of the nuclear power plants. “I support any reasonable proposal that enables us to increase our power generation capacities,” said Merz at “maischberger”.
