Now that Intel has the road paved towards the debut of the CPUs 14th generation Meteor Lake, which will take place in the second half of this year, the news regarding the architecture begin to follow each other with greater cadence and to reveal more and more technical details both on the innovations that will be made and on the increase in performance. As is now known, the Meteor Lake architecture will be built using the new 7nm manufacturing processofficially known as Intel 4, which along with the new MCM design (Multi-Chip Module), should allow you to make some benefits in terms of energy efficiencyone of the few weak points of the Santa Clara company’s CPUs.

According to rumors from insider OneRaichu, precisely on this front the new Intel Meteor Lake CPUs should bring a significant improvement, about 50% compared to the Raptor Lake architecture. If this is confirmed, the 14th generation Core processors will be able to match the power of the current generation while consuming only half, thus offering a fairly important performance leap. In addition to this, together with the new P-Core and E-Core with Redwood Cove and Crestmont architecture, a third type of core will be introduced for the first time, called “E-Core LP” with low energy consumption, with which the TDP of U/P/H lines, meant for laptops, should drop in the 15-45W range.

The news will also concern the integrated graphics, which according to the source should double the performance compared to the Raptor Lake iGPU. As already suggested by the previous news, this one should have an architecture battlemage, with 128EU (Execution Units) running at 2GHz, versus 96 graphics units on current CPUs. Using a tile-based design, Intel will combine its 7nm manufacturing process with TSMC’s 5nm manufacturing process to build the iGPU. Finally, the entire packaging will be created using Foveros proprietary 3D technology, which we have detailed in an article.
