How the Argentine tourist died on the Isla de Mujeres

The municipal police said that the Argentine tourist had gone down with a guide to walk in the shallow waters of the island and vanished.

The guide, helped by other tourists, took him to the coast. There, lifeguards and paramedics from the Red Cross performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but the man no longer had vital signs.

The doctors said that it appeared that he had suffered a heart attack.

Isla Mujeres is located in the Caribbean Sea, very close to the Yucatan Peninsula, in southeastern Mexico. It is one of the eleven municipalities in the state of Quintana Roo, one of the most touristic in the country.
