The Foreign Secretary, Marcelo Ebrard, He highlighted the position of the Mexican Government regarding the recent controversies with the United States and its reasons for requesting the entry of military forces into national territory.
During his tour of the neighboring country and the border cities, the foreign minister —also a candidate for the presidential candidacy— met with the business sector of Tijuana where he spoke about the recent geopolitical friction between the US and Mexico.
In the company of the mayoress of Tijuana, Montserrat Caballero Ramírez, the secretary of SRE warned that the Mexican authorities support the position of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), who has criticized the insistence of the US government to intervene in internal political matters.
“No Mexican or Mexican is going to allow a foreign military force to set foot in our territory and we say it from Tijuana, which is where our homeland begins,” said the Mexican foreign minister.
During his visit to the border cities, the Mexican foreign minister was recognized for his work in favor of the states that border the United States, as well as his work with the Otay table, among others. At par, Marcelo Ebrard he met with 15 thousand supporters at the El Trompo Museum.
The Mexican official began his tour in the United States on April 11 to assist as a representative in events held with the Mexican community that lives in that country, and where he has been awarded for his duties as Secretary of Foreign Affairs.
However, during his presentations, the Mexican foreign minister has pointed out the Mexican position on political conflicts between the neighboring country. It should be noted that last March, Marcelo Ebrard traveled to the United States to begin a campaign in defense of Mexico.
And it is that since the attacks by Republican congressmen against Mexico began, the national authorities have expressed their rejection of the interventions proposed by the Americans to “support” the fight against criminal drug trafficking cells.
Given this, the secretary of the SRE met with the 52 Mexican consuls in the US, as well as with the ambassador, Esteban Moctezuma Barragan. In these meetings, the Mexican foreign minister instructed the officials to begin an information and defense campaign for Mexico.
Through a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Relations iHe reported that work groups were created to analyze the recent attacks made by Republican congressmen to blame Mexico for the health crisis due to the consumption of illicit substances, and especially fentanyl, among US citizens.
And it is that the congressmen have not only issued criticisms and accusations, but have also proposed using the forces of their army to intervene in national territory, thus attacking internal material policies.
“We are not going to allow Mexico to be run over,” Foreign Minister Ebrard told the 52 consuls gathered at the Mexican Cultural Institute.
It should be noted that Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard explained that the greatest ally that the United States has had to combat the crisis it is facing has been Mexico. And as proof of this, it has been the seizure of six tons of fentanyl, a record number in support of the United States government.
“With this cost of human lives, how is it that these gentlemen dare to question our commitment or, worse still, to ask for an intervention in our country? the chancellor maintained in his presentation.
However, the consuls, the ambassador and the Secretary of Foreign Relations agreed that Mexico is in favor of cooperation with American authorities, in order to reach an agreement that it does not interfere with internal policies.
