Two young people were arrested in Entre Ríos with a million-dollar and historic shipment of ecstasy and methamphetamine pills last Tuesday, according to different media outlets in that province.
Their identity and their province of origin were not disclosed, but The territory was able to learn that both are missionaries, natives of the town of Bernardo de Irigoyen.
According to what was reconstructed, the procedure was carried out in the first hours of the day, when it was dawn, near the border with the province of Corrientes, in the Federation Department.
The diary one explained that an agent from the Directorate of Prevention and Road Safety signaled to the driver of a VW Saveiro truck to stop the march, on the side of the national highway 14.
In that instance, he asked the driver where he was going, at which point the man hesitated, could not answer clearly and became nervous. In turn, the one who was accompanying him pretended to be asleep and jumped on top of a bag.
Suspecting some irregularity, the police officer decided to notify his colleagues and so they brought the drug-detecting dog.
The animal marked the presence of some illegal substance in the vehicle and for this reason this situation was reported to the Federal Court of Concordia, and Judge Analía Ramponi ordered the requisition of the truck.
In this way, the police found bags with pills in different parts of the vehicle, both inside and under the spare wheel.
The counting of the pills as well as the weighing led the Police to report that “the largest seizure of synthetic drugs was carried out.”
The packages that contained pills of chemical composition whose analysis showed that they were ecstasy and methamphetamines. In the first batch found there was an amount greater than 8,000 units, totaling more than four kilos. In the others, 3 kilos were found.
Both were immediately arrested and placed at the disposal of the Federal Justice, who seized their cell phones and ordered searches of their homes. Authorities could not confirm the true destination of the drug.
