The director of the Salvadoran Social Security Institute (ISSS), Mónica Ayala Guerrero, highlighted in an interview that, since last year, the institution began a transformation process, implementing new technologies for the user service process.
Another example of this modernization, commented Mónica Ayala, are aortic valve implants via TAVI, which prevent open heart surgeries and improve the quality of life of patients with heart disease.
The official also stated that they are currently training more than 370 residents in various specialties. “We are investing in the training of suitable professionals to safeguard the lives of the beneficiaries and their families”he added.
Finally, the director of Social Security highlighted that they will soon inaugurate the La Ceiba medical unit, a second specialty clinic where they will provide ophthalmology, orthopedics, geriatrics, dermatology, nephrology and internal medicine consultations.
