Step.- A one-vehicle crash claimed the life of a motorcyclist early Thursday morning in West El Paso.

El Paso Police (EPPD) Special Traffic Investigations (STI) responded to a 800 N. Resler collision at 3:39 am.

Preliminary investigation revealed that 25-year-old James Rubalcaba was traveling southbound in the 800 block of N. Resler operating a 1990 Honda CBR. Rubalcaba hit a guardrail and was thrown from the motorcycle.

Rubalcaba was transported to the UMC but succumbed to his injuries. At this time, lack of speed control is believed to have been a factor in the collision.

This is the 20th traffic death this year, compared to 23 in the same period last year.

will receive tribute

Through social networks, Mark Rubalcaba, who identifies himself as the uncle of the victim of the road accident, announced that a celebration of James’ life will be held this Monday.

“It is with great sadness that I inform you that my nephew Jame Rubalcabla was cut too short on Thursday, April 20. Many of you may not know that I was granted guardianship of James when he was in high school and he lived with me for a few years in El Paso and Chicago,” the text states.

“James would never have wanted a traditional funeral, so for those of us who live in El Paso we will celebrate life at his beloved Union Draft House Canyons, located at 7470 Cimarron Market Avenue Unit 100,” adds Mark.

The commemoration will take place this Monday, April 24 from 5 pm until closing.

In life, James, who was born on July 14, 1997, worked in the place where tribute will now be paid to him.
