FRESNO COUNTY, California – Just before 5:30 am Tuesday, former Sanger police officer Manvir Dhanoa died after his vehicle rolled over near the Table Mountain Casino.

The 26-year-old victim was off duty at the time of the accident, authorities said, at the same time as expressions of affection and condolences for the sudden and tragic departure of Manny, as he was known by those close to him.

“It is with deep regret that we announce the untimely passing of Police Officer Manvir Dhanoa, a dedicated and promising member of the Sanger Police Department,” the institution posted on its social media.

Highway Patrol authorities are investigating the accident, which occurred on the morning of June 13 on Millerton Road, near Sky Harbor Road. “Despite the medical care provided at the scene, he tragically succumbed to his injuries,” Sanger Police said in an official statement.

Manvir Dhanoa had only started his police career in March this year, but according to his superiors “his enthusiasm for serving his community was evident from the moment he joined the force.”

The department has lost a valued member, the officers and colleagues added.

In honor of officer Manvir Dhanoa, flags at all city facilities will fly at half-mast until he is buried, police authorities said.
