Now the chairman of the municipal board in Karlstad, Linda Larsson (S), reacts to SVT’s revelation that several of the leading politicians in the municipality are also involved as freemasons.
– It is clear that it is worrying. Because when you don’t talk openly, you don’t know when there’s a problem, she says.
For many years she has worked side by side with the male politicians without knowing that within the framework of Freemasonry they took a vow of silence and promised friendship, fidelity and affection to the Order and its members.
Christian men only
The Freemasonry is only open to Christian men and largely consists of the upper echelons of society. Among the members are politicians, senior managers in business, police officers, doctors and lawyers.
– This type of old-fashioned power structures with rites from the Middle Ages does not feel very modern in 2023, says Linda Larsson.
