Facing the juggernaut HPIof which TF1 starts the broadcast of season 3 this Thursday, May 11 (one episode per week), France 3 plays the security card, and will offer its viewers a repeat broadcast, that of Murders in Tahiti, notably with Jean-Michel Tinivelli. Previously broadcast in December 2019, the fiction had brought together 5.17 million viewers for 25.1% of the public present in front of their television screen. Two years later, also in rebroadcast, no less than 3.4 million people rediscovered this issue of the successful collection of France 3 for a market share of 20.8%. But is it worth a catch-up session tonight? Our opinion.

In Tahiti, the mutilated corpse of a man is discovered in the sacred temple of Oro, the god of war. The victim is a respected doctor. The young lieutenant of the local gendarmerie Mareva Umaga (Leslie Medina) will have to team up on this case with Philippe Toussaint (Jean-Michel Tinivelli), freshly transferred to the island. But the tandem is rather poorly matched… The new commander does not really have the state of mind that reigns in the archipelago; and his daughter, who lives there, is hardly happy to see him again. She blames him for breaking up their family life because of an affair.

This part of the “Meurtres à…” collection promises to amaze us. And for good reason: if the plot is usual for this kind of production, the natural settings of the Polynesian islands are breathtaking. The icing on the cake, the bubbly Miss France 2019, Vaimalama Chaves, originally from Papeete, makes one of the tastiest appearances, during a short sequence where she sings the song… with the ukulele of course! In short, a unit that should seduce (many) fans of the genre!
