She appeared on Love Island last summer and was the show’s first-ever hearing-impaired contestant.

But while Tasha was soaking up the sun in the villa, Tarek was reading the hurtful comments posted online.

It got so bad at one point that Tarek revealed he told his wife he was going to remove his daughter from the villa.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, he said: “There were two occasions where I sat down with my wife and said I was going to jump on a plane and go to Mallorca and drag her out from there, but then we would talk about it. .

“We couldn’t do anything about trolling.”

At first, Tarek said he would respond to trolls and fight back, but soon realized that wasn’t the best thing to do.

He continued: “I would take a few to task and try to educate them and make them think what they were saying was a little too harsh.

“But actually it becomes a point where you’re looking for the wrong things and not the right things. Life changed after me and my ex-wife decided to stop looking at the wrong things.

Despite the abuse Tasha has faced, her father has praised Love Island’s security protocols.

He revealed how the producers told him that if she didn’t appear on screen, then he had to pick up the phone and alert them.

“The whole treatment program from them was pretty good, I really have no complaints,” he recalls.

“I had these numbers and they said if I saw anything on TV that wasn’t ‘Tasha’, to call us. I have to say they were very supportive throughout the case.

The all-new Love Island series kicked off Monday night with a fresh batch of singletons.

Before the show began, ITV announced a major change to the show’s rules.

They banned the contestants’ family and friends from managing their social media accounts while they are on the show.

It aims to reduce the harmful messages they receive by participating.
