If you are sad about spending the Christmas holidays away from home and away from your family, find refuge with friends and people who can give you shelter. There is always someone who has it a little more complicated. If you don’t believe it, ask the astronauts of the NASA International Space Stationwhich will spend the festivities in Earth orbit.

They are out of the planet, they are able to smile and send an emotional message. They are certainly fulfilling a unique dream that few can achieve: traveling into space is not for everyone. However, they do not stop being far from their loved ones.

“Merry Christmas. We are Expedition 68 and from the International Space Station we want to greet the entire Latino and Hispanic community during these holidays. We hope it will be a time of peace, joy and reunion with family and friends”, says astronaut Frank Rubio.

Together with Frank, they are part of the crew of the International Space Station (ISS). The images show Koichi Wakata from the Japan Space Agency (JAXA) Nicole Mann and Josh Cassada from NASA.

“Being in space we will miss our families very much. But we will be celebrating as a family and as a crew; our family in space Once again: Merry Christmas”, they all said to close the message with a smile.

NASA ISS Expedition 68

Specifically, there are seven astronauts who are part of expedition 68 on the ISS. The mission began on September 29 and will be long-term. The astronauts arrived to assist their colleagues in the scientific projects that were already underway.

The consequences of being in space for so long for humans is always one of the missions to look at in astronauts traveling to the ISS.
