At its peak: a bill to nationalize EDF to “put an end to 25 years of neoliberal cycle of deregulation of the public energy service”, according to its author Philippe Brun.

In committee, he had his text adopted by a coalition of opposition deputies, including from the right, against the presidential camp. The deputies also opened up to craftsmen, in particular bakers, the benefit of a “specific TPE tariff shield”. However, the majority raised risks of inadmissibility. The office of the commission must meet this Thursday morning to decide.
It remains to be seen whether attendance in the hemicycle, in particular on the LR side, will or will not allow the adoption of the text at first reading.
To get to this possible trophy faster, the Socialists gave up defending their tax on superprofits on Thursday, a priori condemned by firm opposition from the presidential camp and the right. It will return by “amendment to the pension reform”, insists its rapporteur Christine Pirès Beaune.
The Socialists could except surprise start the day by obtaining a commission of inquiry on the cost of living in Overseas. They should then fight much more on the meals for the students.
After EDF, the deputies will consider a text by Isabelle Santiago to “automatically” withdraw parental authority in the event of conviction for incestuous aggression, crime on the child or on the other parent, except for a reasoned decision by the judge. Adopted unanimously in committee, it also provides for the automatic suspension of parental authority for those prosecuted.
A text on influencers
If time allows it, MEPs will then consider a text on influencers. Acclaimed in committee, he proposes, among other things, to ban the promotion of medical devices, surgical procedures, in particular aesthetic, but also sports betting, or even alcoholic beverages. Whatever their fate on Thursday, these measures must be proposed in March in a joint text by Arthur Delaporte (PS) and Stéphane Vojetta (Renaissance).
Also on the program Thursday: a text adopted in committee for the issuance of protection orders, and the doubling of their maximum duration to twelve months, in order to better protect women victims of domestic violence.
Finally, Gérard Leseul must defend a proposed constitutional law for the creation of an environmental defender. His proposal had not been adopted by the Law Commission.
