• The dating app launches a series of new features, including Incognito mode
    • Using Tinder while being almost invisible is now possible
    • Tinder also offers a new way to block exes

Tinder continues to improve its offer. The dating app has just released a series of new features to reassure its users, including the new Incognito mode. This word certainly means something to you, since it is the English name of Google Chrome’s private browsing, which allows you to search without leaving a trace on the browser. On Tinder, the Incognito mode allows you to be invisible, except for the people you are interested in.

How it works ? According to Tinder’s explanations, when you activate this mode, you have a profile that is almost completely hidden. You will be able to use the application normally, scrolling through the profiles and approving or rejecting them. However, your profile will only appear on suggestions from people you have liked. The ones you ignored won’t see you.

In its press release, Tinder does not dwell on the usefulness of this novelty. For example, the Incognito mode will allow you to use the app and find potential partners without the possibility of being seen by a colleague, a family member, or an ex-boyfriend.

Tinder is full of new things

As Valentine’s Day approaches, Tinder is full of new things. And when it comes to exes, the app has also just expanded its profile blocking features. While it was already possible to block a contact or block someone after a report, Tinder also allows you to block profiles seen as suggestions. “[…] when profiles are suggested, before matching, members can block them from showing up again. It’s an easy way to avoid seeing a boss or an ex.” specifies the dating app on this subject.

Tinder also facilitates reporting, by allowing the user to initiate this procedure simply by making a long press on the message deemed offensive. And the app improves features aimed at making conversations between members healthier. “These features are being updated to include even more terms that Tinder categorizes as harmful or inappropriate, such as terms related to hate speech, sexual exploitation, or harassment that violate its terms of service”indicates the app.

Otherwise, it also offers new educational content, around online dating, in partnership with an NGO. Tinder evokes in particular the people who turned 18 during the pandemic, and who made their first meetings thanks to the application. “Research shows that a majority of 18-25 year olds are concerned about their emotional and physical safety when dating. That’s why we want to provide these young daters with helpful and insightful content on how to connect with others they’ve matched with online”explains Pamela Zaballa, CEO of NO MORE, one of the NGOs working with Tinder.
