Netflix and their shared accounts are in the past. At least, that is the reality that is already lived in Canada, Spain, New Zealand and Portugal, the first four countries affected by the new measures of the streaming service.

Since Thursday, February 9, 2023, users of the platform in these territories have had to accept the recent rules of the company, which has identified that more than 100 million households share their accounts to watch series and movies.

THE REASON WHY NETFLIX HAS PROHIBITED ACCOUNT SHARING

On February 8, an official statement from the brand was released: “We’ve always made it easy for people living under one roof to share their Netflix account with features like profiles and multi-screen viewing. However, Netflix has proposed an alternative. From now on, subscribers to the Standard or Premium plans from Spain can add “subaccounts” For two people, maximum, with whom you do not live.

Each of them will have a profile, personalized recommendations, their own username and password, for a cost of 5.99 euros per month per person.

OTHER NETFLIX RESTRICTIONS IN SPAIN

Netflix has implemented new functions with which it promises that you will be able to “better control your account”. We detail them below.
