Victoires de la Musique 2023: everything you need to know about the ceremony hosted by Laury Thilleman

Where do the Victoires de la Musique take place?

Like previous editions, including one without an audience due to the health crisis in 2021, the ceremony will take place at the Seine Musicale near Paris. This time, artists and spectators have an appointment on Friday February 10 while the show will be broadcast on France 2, live, from 9:10 p.m.

Already a Music Victory for Angèle and for Ninho

Like last year, a male artist and a female artist will be rewarded in the category of the most streamed album of the past year. We already know the winners: ninety-five of Angela and Jeff by Ninho.

Serge Lama, Victory of honor, but absent from the ceremony

“The Victoires de la Musique are pleased to announce that they will celebrate Serge Lama, by awarding him a Victory of Honor live from the Seine Musicale.” announced France 2 in a press release. Only problem, Serge Lama has no plans to attend the event and even less to sing there ! “It was my only condition to accept this price. I don’t want to show myself today. I prefer to stay on what I was. (…) Today, I would have to sing sitting down. (…) Physically, I am very damaged. I have great difficulty walking. You know it’s hard“, he confided to our colleagues from the JDD.

A youthful look among voters

This year, no less than 50% of new voters joined the adventure in order to give the results a little facelift. And this in every sense of the word: among the 200 non-professional voters, half came from an operation set up with the Pass Culture, aimed at 15-18 year olds, and the National Center for Music. In addition, in order to vary the results, each participant had to offer a multiple choice among the artists competing in the first and second rounds (and no longer a single choice), leading to the complete list of nominees announced this Monday, January 10 and available on the link below.

Benjamin Biolay among the major absentees from the nominations

Yet a great regular at the Victoires de la Musique Benjamin Biolay is not named in any category. The latter had released last September, his tenth album Saint-Clair. The singer reacted without filter to his non-nomination for the Victoires de la Musique in an Instagram post on Monday, January 9: “We were keen to play a good game both individually and collectively, but we are going out in the group stage. We will come back stronger. Thoughts moved to those who will have to find another storytelling to explain how life is unfair and that it is always the same ones who blah blah blah. Good luck to the comrades and long live the victories.”
