Netflix’s iOS app has just been updated with a new interface. Its developers are betting on new animations to improve the experience.

There’s something new for Netflix, at least on iOS. After several weeks of testing, the number 1 in streaming has just rolled out an update to its application on all iPhones and iPads.

On the program: a new presentation of content, as well as improvements to make the application much more responsive. Haptic feedback also brings the software to life, which really feels more enjoyable to use.

In this video published by one of the developers of Netflix on iOS, we see the animations at the start of the application.

Soon a redesign of all applications?

Netflix’s new presentation uses a card system that reminds us of Tinder, although it is not possible to “swipe” to move from one content to another. Each category features large content, while the background mimics the colors of the poster. It’s pretty. Touching a program also makes it feel like it’s expanding to full screen, whereas it opened basic before.

With these simple changes, Netflix makes its app feel much faster. The contents don’t seem to need to load, everything is already there.

The redesigner, who has since left Netflix, touts the new app as “smoother, tastier, and neater.”

What about other platforms, like Android? The three developers who publicly claim their involvement in this project work in the iOS team and have, a priori, nothing to say about a possible similar update on Android, even if it’s a safe bet that it is also on the program. Our colleagues from iGeneration also claim to have seen a tweet mentioning the arrival of this new design on Apple TV, since deleted by its author.
