The following year, the film directed by Denis Villeneuve was awarded at the 90th Academy Awards. Blade Runner 2049 : what is the film about?

As its title suggests, the story of the film takes place in 2049 and the world is under tension. Nothing is going well between humans and their slaves who came into existence thanks to biological engineering. A mission of extreme importance awaits Officer K, a Blade Runner, since he must find and eliminate disobedient slaves. But during his hunt, he discovers a secret that could change the face of the world. When the highest authorities learn that Officer K is in possession of this ultra-confidential information, they decide to change the situation: he must be eliminated! To survive, he absolutely must find Rick Deckard, a former Blade Runner who has been missing for several years already.

Harrison Ford makes his comeback in Blade Runner

Blade Runner 2049 is a sequel to the original film titled Blade Runner, released in 1982. Already at the time, Harrisson Ford was in the casting. Thirty-five years later after the release of the first film, the actor therefore agreed to reprise his role. “The way the character is introduced into the story intrigued me. There’s a very strong emotional context. The relationship between the Deckard character that I play and the other characters is fascinating. I think it’s interesting to develop a character after so much time, to revisit it”he revealed.
