Netflix invests heavily in Chinese-language content. And among these contents, there is the series Agent From Above, with the Taiwanese actor Kai Ko. Unfortunately, the filming of this one does not go without hitches. Indeed, in December, the main actor of this future Netflix series was the victim of a drone accident during filming. This is what is revealed by an article from Variety, which quotes a Taiwanese media, as well as an official press release from the production studios.
The statement explains that the accident took place on December 27, during the filming of Agent From Above. But the two companies, mm2 and Good Films, claim that the filming was done in compliance with standard security measures. And the propellers of the drones were coated with a protective layer. Thus, there would have been neither explosion nor broken propeller blades. The drone, however, injured Kai in the cheek.
A “serious disfigurement”?
“Kai immediately received medical attention and his talent management team also arranged microsutures for him. The production team is sorry for the incident and is continuing to investigate. We have temporarily suspended filming for our lead actor Kai to allow him time to rest and recuperate. We look forward to seeing him back on set when he is fully recovered”we also read in this press release, shared by Variety a week ago.
According to the media, the manager of Kai Ko would have meanwhile indicated to a Taiwanese media that the actor suffered a “serious disfigurement”. 20 to 30 stitches would have been needed. It is not known if this accident will delay the release of the fantastic series, the date of which has not yet been announced by Netflix.
