Two people were shot and wounded in an attack on Saturday (January 28th) in a neighborhood in East Jerusalem, reported the Magen David Adom (MDA), the Israeli equivalent of the Red Cross, the day after a shooting that left seven dead near a synagogue.

Israeli police identified the assailant as a 13-year-old Palestinian. She said the suspect had been “neutralized” without specifying whether he was injured or dead.
Two attacks in two days
The MDA said it received a phone call at 10:42 a.m. “reporting a terrorist attack” in Silwan, a Palestinian neighborhood on the edge of the Old City. “A 23-year-old man in serious condition and a 47-year-old man in moderate to serious condition with gunshot wounds to his upper body”said an MDA spokesperson.

“We were quickly on the scene and saw two victims of an armed attack”, Fadi Dekidek, a doctor at MDA, said in a statement. He said the victims were “conscious” and were taken to hospital.
On Friday, East Jerusalem was the scene of a deadly attack, one of the bloodiest in years, in which a Palestinian killed seven people near a synagogue, before being shot dead.
