New expiration date: Microsoft launches Windows Server vNext Preview

Microsoft has released a new preview version for Windows Server. The vNext LTSC Preview server build comes with a new expiration date. Microsoft has provided revised ISOs for this, as well as free keys to try out.

Windows Insiders can now get the new Windows Server vNext Insider Preview Build 25346. Windows manager Stacey Clements explains the details in the Techcommunity Server Blog.

Not much is revealed about the individual changes and innovations, but that’s nothing unusual with its preview versions. The build number is the same as the Windows 11 Insider Update for the Canary channel, which was also released recently (more on that in our separate report).

The Windows Server Long-Term Servicing Channel Preview is now available in ISO format in 18 languages and in VHDX format in English only. Various language packages are also available for download. If you want to test the preview, you can use one of the keys that Microsoft has provided for this purpose:

These keys are only valid for the server vNext LTSC preview builds, not for the regular updates or for old server versions. The new Windows Server preview update has a new expiration date. It expires on September 15, 2023, so there’s still plenty of time to try it out until the fall. Windows Insiders who are already registered can go directly to Windows Server Insider Preview download page navigate and start all desired downloads there. If you are not yet registered as an insider, you can do so in the “Windows Insiders for Business Portal“By the way, catch up at any time. There you will also find all the necessary requirements for the insider program, participation is free of charge. The update to the new build 25346 can be carried out with the ISO package as a new installation, writes Microsoft.
