The Lions Club Rheintal – amKumma supports Superar Vorarlberg, an initiative that wants to enable free music lessons for young people, regardless of their social background.

The New Year’s reception of the Lions Club Rheintal am Kumma recently took place in the Junker-Jonas-Schlössle. In the hall, which was attractively decorated by florist Yvonne Amann-Maier, members of the charitable association met at the start of a new year, in which numerous activities to collect donations for fellow citizens in need are pending. On the occasion of the reception, 20 Superar kids performed a mini concert with music teacher Jakob Peböck and singing teacher and choir director Victoria Türtscher. The enthusiasm of the young musicians was clearly audible. With red caps and a lot of commitment, they performed several songs and received great applause. President Harald Schwarzer thanked the two choir directors: Victoria Türtscher is director of the Superar youth choir Bregenz and – together with Birgit Plankel and Jakob Peböck – of the state children’s choir. Jakob Peböck is a music teacher at several schools, a member of the festival choir and also performs with Victoria Türtscher as a duo “Sunny Side Up”. As a surprise, the two conductors performed a song about “Two Little Vorarlbergers” and their journey with the Railjet, during which “Oh Magnus and Johannes from the country to the big city” were sung humorously.

Big concert in March
The Kummenberg Lions have been supporting the Superar Choir for several years, as club member and Superar godmother Daniela Fessler reports. Superar (German: to overcome borders) is an Austria-wide association that gives children and young people in seven European countries free access to music lessons. Superar works with professional musicians and offers children and young people free access to cultural support. In this way, the multi-layered positive effect of music reaches children and young people regardless of their cultural, religious, linguistic and economic background. In all, Superar works with 500 children in Vorarlberg and will be giving a big concert on March 21, 2023 to mark the 10th anniversary at the AMBACH cultural stage (free admission, donations requested).

President Harald Schwarzer and Vice-President Andrea Fritz-Pinggera would like to thank everyone who volunteers for the good cause or supports them with their donation and look forward to many visitors at the Superar concert on March 21 in the AMBACH culture stage.
